Terra Inspectioneering aims to make the industrial inspection world safer, more efficient, and more sustainable by driving innovation where it is needed most. Every day, we look for ways to push boundaries, both literally and figuratively.
Inspection of industrial installations has traditionally involved people entering dangerous situations: heights, confined spaces, extreme temperatures. We believe this can be done differently. By deploying drones and robotics where people previously had to climb in themselves, we remove the risk from the process without compromising on quality.

2016 Establishment
Founded as RoNik Inspectioneering in Bruinisse, Zeeland. Started developing drones for visual inspections in confined spaces. First successful tests in confined spaces.
2020 Growth
The use of UT measurements with drones is increasing, and the staff is expanding to 15. Opening of a new office at Dockwise in Vlissingen and in Sri Lanka for the reporting team.
2017 Confined space drones
First internal drone inspections in storage tanks in the Port of Rotterdam. For the first time in history, no scaffolding or rope access is needed anymore to inspect tanks from the inside.
2022 Brazil
First successful application of UT drone inspections on an FPSO in Brazil. International activities are growing. Branches opened in Germany and Singapore. Terra Drone Japan acquires 100% ownership.
2018 Development
Start of drone development for ultrasonic thickness measurements thanks to Interreg subsidy together with KIC MPI in Terneuzen. First international projects in Gelsenkirchen (Germany), Dublin (Ireland), and Perth (Australia).
2024 Certification
Class ABS, DNV and Bureau Veritas certifications awarded. Inspections with UT drones on FPSOs are taking off worldwide. Parent company Terra Drone receives a listing on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
2019 Ultrasound
First commercial execution of ultrasonic thickness measurements with a Terra drone in a storage tank in Rotterdam. Participation of Terra Drone Japan. EEMUA159 certification for tank inspections.
2026 Relocation
Start of hardware sales division, first product is the Terra Xross1. In addition, development of various new inspection tools: Aquadrone, Sewer tool, Chimney inspection camera, ULTRA line scanner (see “our equipment”). Relocation to a new office in Vlissingen.
